Articles

It’s one thing to be involved in an incredibly violent fight whether it’s in the Octagon, the Ring, or even on the streets… it’s another thing to walk away from it. Here’s a handful of people that were lucky enough to look absolute violence right in the eyes and to live to see another day.

Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin Introduce the world to MMA

We’ll start this off with a two-for-one. The fight of the century. Both of these UFC fighters threw everything they had into this all-out slugfest. It’s the first time that UFC was shown on cable TV and they knew they had to make a good first impression. This back and forth brawl put the UFC on the map, and terrified soccer moms across the nation. Forrest would go on to become champion and ultimately retire, Bonnar is still fighting in Bellator.

Very Brutal 2 on 1 Streetfight

He was smart to take a knee to end this fight even though he was likely ahead, who knows what would have happened if it continued?

“There was a lot of blood loss in the Koscheck fight and maybe my legs weren’t quite doing as well as they should have been, but I think it’s just about mental toughness and fighting through it. If you look at the end of that fight, it ended up with me on the feet landing some good punches, still trying to take him out.” – Chris Lytle

Gatti and Ward Went to War For The Best Round in Boxing History

This fight was destined to be a classic before the opening bell even rang. Many people consider this to be one of the greatest ’50s style fights in boxing, period. You aren’t seeing two men in gloves trading punches in a boxing ring, all you’re seeing is pure heart. When Ring Magazine has named two fights out of the three times these two have met as Fights of the Year, i
