While the fight itself is going to be exciting, many are complaining about the stakes at hand. In addition to the fact that Edgar, dos Anjos and Aldo are all left in a holding pattern, a McGregor loss could irreparably doom his reputation while a win would completely undo Diaz’s boom in popularity.
All that extra bulk may have hurt McGregor at UFC 196.
Either way, the fight will go down in July. Hopefully everything works out alright for everyone involved.
