Yet Another UFC Fighter Fails USADA Drug Test

MMA

Another week, another UFC fighter being popped by USADA! Their latest victim? Heavyweight contender Ruslan Magomedov.

Here’s the UFC’s official statement on the matter:

“The UFC organization was notified that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Ruslan Magomedov of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection made on September 7, 2016. USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”

When using the completely, utterly, totally unscientific "eye test" to determine if he's a PED user...Ruslan doesn't look dirty. Photo by Sherdog.

Magomedov’s name probably doesn’t ring too many bells, but this is actually a pretty crappy turn for both the UFC and the Russian fighter.

Magomedov is actually one of the hotter young fighters in the heavyweight division right now. 29 years old, he owns a career record of 14-1, and is actually riding a nine-fight winning streak, one of the longest in the division. He is 3-0 in the UFC, with wins over Viktor Pesta, Josh Copeland and Shawn Jordan. He wasn’t a ranked fighter quite yet, but as one of the few young, successful fighters in the division, was destined to get into the title hunt before long…
