WWE Wants To Sign Ronda Rousey, Says Wrestling Fans Already Love Her

Articles

Stephanie McMahon, daughter of Vince, has continuned down the path of the family business and made a huge name for herself both on and off screen. Another woman who has managed to make a huge name for herself is Ronda Rousey, and the two may be crossing paths again, soon than anyone might imagine…

Ronda has previously showed up at a Wrestle Mania where she laid the smack down on Stephanie and even flipped HHH, as the special guest of her buddy The Rock. By the sounds of it, we may be seeing her in WWE again sooner or later. Ronda is avoided ALL mma media coverage leading up to her fight on Friday, December 30th, where she’ll try to regain her belt. If she isn’t able to pull off the W, it’s hard to imagine her bouncing back, especially since she’s so set for life financially and has other opportunities. Granted, her acting career has taken a bit of a dive since losing the belt, because let’s be real – she wasn’t getting those Hollywood roles based on her acting abilities.

Ronda will only be doing mainstream media like Ellen, but there won’t be a press conference. Remember when Conor McGregor was removed from the UFC 200 card for skipping a presser? They took their biggest star of all time off of what was supposed to be the biggest card of all time for missing one press conference, yet Ronda’s getting a pass. Have to imagine Conor won’t be super thrilled about that…

Anyways, back to WWE, here’s what Stephanie had to say about hiring Ronda:

“Our fans love Ronda,” said Stephanie McMahon. “Ronda has this cross platform appeal in terms of all forms of entertainment. We would welcome her with open arms. She is the total package.”

“Our business works the best when there is magic and energy in the air, and Ronda’s presence brought that.

“With a guest appearance like Ronda’s, to work best it has to be genuine and authentic. Pop culture is a huge strategy for WWE, our storylines are reflective of what’s happening in the world and what’s popular. In sports, it doesn’t get much more popular than Ronda.”
