In a lengthy statement on two different days, Jeff Novitzky , UFC’s vice president of health and performance , has clarified the situation of Jon Jones after his doping.




“Jon Jones tested positive after emerging from a one-year suspension. In the previous positive the judges ruled that it did not purposely use any substance to improve its performance. But they also indicated negligence for being careless. Following his current positive could face a two-year suspension. The positive substance was a metabolite of an anabolic steroid. That was a substance that years ago could only be detected for a few days in the body. They can now be detected for up to four or six months. Jon Jones tested negative on July 6 and 7. The positive test gave July 29. For what it was between those days when it had to enter his organism. And it makes no sense to use it this way so that makes me think it could have been unintentional . Full Statement Continues on Next Page
