Sylvester Stallone Says That Floyd Mayweather Would Face Murder Charges if He Fought Conor McGregor

MMA

People are still talking about Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor, and it’s not just us, either! Mayweather vs. McGregor has captured the world’s attention in a way few fights could (real or imaginary) and people just can’t stop talking about it, whether they’re in or out of the combat sports world.

The latest person to weigh in? None other than Rocky Balboa himself, Sylvester Stallone. While being stalked by some weird creep with a camera phone, ol’ Sly got asked what he thinks about the idea of a Mayweather vs. McGregor fight. His answer? Mayweather would probably be facing first degree murder charges if they faced off.

Here’s the video:

The long and short of it is that Stallone believes that, if Mayweather and McGregor faced off in a boxing match, Mayweather would completely, utterly dominate it. If they faced off in an MMA fight? Vice versa. That’s a largely reasonable assertion, even if the claim that Mayweather would kill anyone in a boxing match with his heavily defensive style is a bit farfetched,

We’ve seen multiple mixed martial artists try their hands at boxing and, traditionally, they have very little success against any high-level competition (look no further than Roy Jones Jr. destroying a mixed martial artist two months ago). Similarly, not too many boxers have had success in MMA, with James Toney, Ricardo Mayorga and Art Jimmerson all flopping in the cage.

Of course, Mayweather would be calling all the shots in fight between the two, and there’s no way he would compete in an MMA bout. If they did face off in the boxing ring, McGregor would most likely be get boxed up and then lose on the scorecards.
