Jacob “Stitch” Duran just let everyone know he’s been fired from the UFC for speaking out on the Reebok deal. Specifically he was unhappy that he’d be losing money by not being allowed to maintain his sponsorship deals and apparently Reebok wouldn’t pay him to make up for it. The veteran cut man has been a fixture at UFC events from the beginning, and can be considered quite important because his skill and experience allow him to fix potentially fight stopping injuries before they got worse.
The Reebok deal is exclusive and disallows other sponsors from advertising independently on fighters, cornermen, and apparently cutmen as well.
@daej81 You will be the first to know that the UFC just let me go because I spoke out about the Reebok deal. Got to look for a new job!
