Just ten days before the fight of the Titans as some have called it Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor just suffered a change. Due to personal reasons including a death of a family member, former welterweight champion Shawn Porter will not fight Thomas Dulorme on August. 26 . The cross between Porter and Dulorme geared to be the highlight of the televised preliminaries for the night of fights , two fights that will be broadcasted by Fox and Fox Deportes at 7pm ET. The former IBF champion will now be replaced by Yordenis Ugas (19-3). He is a 31-year-old Cuban boxer who currently hold the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics .
Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather Promotions CEO issued this statement in regard of the change: “Mayweather Promotions sends our prayers and deepest condolences to the Porter family. In boxing we have to deal with unforeseen problems that always appear. Thomas Dulorme has been training hard and is ready to fight with Yordenis Ugas. Ugas is a tough competitor who should not be underestimated, and Dulorme is ready . Fighters are definitely waiting for a great show between Dulorme and Ugas on August 26th.”
