It’s recently been stated that the high-ups at Zuffa are pushing for random drug testing in mixed martial arts. This answers a lot of controversy after the recent TRT ban, since most people have realized that banning the people who have medical exemptions doesn’t do anything to stop the people using PEDs without getting a doctor’s note. With random testing, it would help to even the playing field.

Some cynical fans have said things like “They’re only saying that they’re in favor of random testing so that people can’t criticize them for being against random testing.” Whatever the reason is, this is one more step towards cleaning up and legitimizing the sport – and probably making it a little bit less entertaining too.

From the sounds of it, the UFC is on board if it’s what the commission wants, yet they haven’t made any plans to move forward with it on their own so maybe it’s a bluff and the point is moot.
