Nick Diaz Almost Free! NSAC Reduces Suspension and Fine

MMA

The Free Nick Diaz movement has succeeded! Mostly!

Diaz’s lawyers officially reached a settlement with the Nevada State Athletic Commission today to reduce the length of his suspension and the size of his fine by a substantial amount. The move comes after months of bad publicity for the commission, as well as a successful 100,000-signature petition to the White House, which was officially responded to by Barack Obama’s staff.

While Diaz isn’t going to be back in the Octagon tomorrow, fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he won’t be forced to serve out the Draconian, borderline immoral five-year, $165,000 suspension handed down to him by the Nevada State Athletic Commission back in September.

Ronda Rousey was one of the many fighters to come out and support Diaz.
