People were wondering when we would see Nate Diaz fighting again, who managed to drudge his way though a lower contract by creating a huge rivalry with Conor McGregor and to finally start making some serious cash after being a skilled, popular fighter for years and years. Granted, some say his previous contract that saw him earning somewhere along the lines of 20k to fight, 20k for the win, was front-loaded, which means he would have been paid a bigger amount upfront on the assumption that he would become champion and be able to re-negotiate. However, when that didn’t happen, Nate wasn’t very enthusiastic to fight for obvious reasons.
Then the McGregor fight came around and Nate got paid. Then the rematch, and Nate got PAID… but with Conor on the bench for a while, it had us wondering what’s next for Nate Diaz?
Dana White answered that question recently when he revealed that a fight had been offered to Nate Diaz. He didn’t tell us who it was, and we’re still not sure, only Nate and his potential opponent know for sure. While people online debated how much Nate really deserved to earn, or parroted old Dana White rhetoric by saying that Nate doesn’t move the needle, Nate responded to the potential fight offer in the most Diaz way you can imagine:
