Jose Aldo vs. Ricardo Lamas will be the co-host of UFC on Fox 26, which will include Perry vs. Ponzinibbio and Mein Vs. Silva

After announcing a bout between two former champions , UFC on Fox 26 continues to add interesting encounters. A rematch between Jose Aldo and Ricardo Lamas will be the star of the December 16 undercard , to be held at the MTS Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, UFC president Dana White confirmed to the Canadian media TSN. The promotion also added two welterweight fights, Mike Perry Vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio and Jordan Mein Vs. Erick Silva .

This will be Aldo’s first fight (26-3) without a middle belt since 2009 . The Brazilian scored seven UFC featherweight belt defenders, sixth on Lamas, before being ousted by Conor McGregor . Aldo recovered by capturing the interim division title over Frankie Edgar and then was promoted to champion with McGregor’s departure from the division, but lost his first defense against Max Holloway . Lamas (18-5) is 5-2 since his loss to Aldo. His losses were against Chad Mendes and Holloway, but now leads a winning streak over Charles Oliveira and Jason Knight.

Perry (11-1) has a knockout streak on Jake Ellenberger and Alex Reyes . “Platinum” was recovered from the first defeat of his career, a decision at the hands of Alan Jouban , having started his UFC passage with knockouts on Hyun Gyu Lim and Danny Roberts . Ponzinibbio (25-3) has a five-game winning streak since losing a Fight of the Night against Lorenz Larkin in 2015 . The most recent triumph of the Argentine, and most importantly, was a knockout over Gunnar Nelson in the UFC Fight Night 113 stellar .

Mein (29-12) retired, returned and now has three straight losses . “Young Gun” walked away from the sport in January 2015 after a loss to Thiago Alves but returned in December last year, losing a decision against Emil Meek , and then suffered another defeat by decision against Belal Muhammad in July 2017 . Silva (19-8) is coming off a knockout loss at the hands of Yancy Medeiros and has lost three of his last four fights . Previous to this the Brazilian had submitted to Luan Chagas in September of the 2016, recovering of its first streak of defeats at the hands of Neil Magny and Nordine Taleb
