What Happens With a “TAI CHI MASTER” Tests His Skills Against an MMA Fighter…

Articles

This fight got a ton of attention in China, when a master in the ancient art of Tai Chi decided to test his skills against an actual MMA fighter. These types of things NEVER end well for the person who isn’t a real fighter. How can you be so delusional about your own skills and martial arts abilities, to think that you can beat an actual fighter? Is it a lifetime of people taking it easy on you in the gym? Who knows…

Reported by BJPenn.com, via the Daily Mail:

“38-tear-old Xu Xiaodong is a former Chinese MMA fighter turned MMA coach and wanted to prove a point to 41-year-old Wei Lei, a self-proclaimed Tai Chi master. Xiaodong started beef with the Tai Chi master on the Chinese social media platform Weibo and claimed that Lei’s fighting style was a scam and that the fighting style served no actual purpose for combat.”

C’mon. The 41 year old Tai Chi master MUST have known his skills can’t hold up in actual combat, right? Glorified yoga isn’t going to win you very many street fights, you know?

Anyways, what else is there to even say about this one? Just check out the clip for yourself:

You’d think at some point, someone would have pulled the older guy aside (Mind you, both of these guys are basically the same age, the MMA fighter is a few years younger), and told him that he was in over his head… but maybe people had too much respect for his “skills” to do that? If anyone more familiar with the culture can weight in on how this all went down, please do. We don’t want to mis-characterize anyone here, but it’s hard to imagine how anyone thought this was a good idea, or why the Tai Chi guy would start talking trash on social media and actually agreeing to this fight.
