You have to imagine that Conor’s team knew this was a possibility, too. Maybe that explains why they were kind of jerking Paulie around according to one of the stories, maybe they could tell he was just there to gain intel, maybe that fueled Conor to really slap him around a lot more, because if you’ve seen the clips it doesn’t look good for Paulie and it’s not like he’s been retired for a decade or anything, it ‘s only been around a couple years.
