ESPN Panel Loses Their Damn Minds Over Conor / Mayweather Result

Articles

People on ESPN seem to have trouble talking about their own sports that they actually cover and making sense, so when you see them trying to branch out and talk about other sports, it’s always worthy of a double take. To be fair, it’s got to be hard to fill the air waves with constant sports talk and opinions when you can’t possibly be 100% versed in every single match of every single sport, but this is a pretty big fight, to say the least. Now obviously, Teddy Atlas knows a thing or two about boxing, don’t get us wrong, but this discussion still goes totally off the rails.

Leave it to ESPN to make things weird when their guys start breaking down this fight. We’ll keep this short and sweet, here’s the clip…

Basically they’re saying that Mayweather is a gourmet chef in boxing, and Conor ‘forced’ him to come down and fight at Conor’s ‘fastfood’ level.

Do they not think Floyd could have fought really defensively if he wanted? He just suddenly doesn’t have that ability anymore? Conor broke him, and FORCED Floyd to fight differently? Absolutely not. That’s how Floyd WANTED to fight. It’s not like Mayweather COULDN’T have fought ‘gourmet’, it’s just he didn’t have to.

Anyways, it was a fun fight, you enjoyed it, right?
