Dana White and Ken Shamrock Finally Squash Their Beef

Articles

Some of the most exciting rivalries in pro sports have taken place inside of the UFC’s Octagon, but a lot of the UFC’s beefs over the years seem to play out in the media as well. A prime example of this is the hatred that Dana White and Ken Shamrock have shown towards one another for about 13 years. At the risk of sounding like some teenage gossip magazine, this story is worth mentioning because it could actually be really good for MMA. Before you start thinking it’s all rainbows and unicorns now that Dana White and Ken Shamrock have made nice, keep in mind that Dana White tends to hold a grudge unless there’s a way for him to profit.

The timing is interesting, because just a day earlier, Shamrock was making headlines by sharing his opinion on the mythical UFC fighter uniforms (That’s uniforms, not unicorns… Although at this point, neither are real.) The topic of uniforms has been coming up quite a bit recently, for seemingly no reason at all. There haven’t been any announcements, just mountains of speculation. But not even a full twenty four hours later, it seems White and Shamrock have decided to patch things up and to let by-gones be by-gones.

“Ken Shamrock and I spoke and we have squashed our beef,” Dana White told TMZ on Monday. (Yeah, we’re citing TMZ as a source. Deal with it.)

When asked for a comment, the other half of this bitter rivalry (If you could even call them rivals), here’s what Ken Shamrock had to say.

“It’s good for the fans.”

I guess it’s good for the fans in the sense that we’ll only ever have to see one Shamrock parading around backstage at Bellator anytime soon.

Here are some great video highlights of the back-and-forth between White and Shamrock over the years.
