Dana White Gives Update On McGregor’s Next Fight, Not Who You Think…

Articles

There are a lot of names flying around lately.

For starters, GSP needs a match, and there were some rumblings of GSP vs McGregor at 170. Look, even after a long layoff, GSP is a whole other beast than Nate Diaz, but we can’t deny in would be the biggest selling fight ever, almost adding another zero to Conor McGregor’s net worth.

Also, there’s the whole Conor vs Floyd Mayweather thing, but we won’t get into that again right now.

Dana White says it won’t be either of those, and that Conor’s next bout will be at 155, against the winner of Khabib and Ferguson.

Those two are fighting for an interim belt while the champ takes some time off to meet his new baby, but once Conor’s paternity leave is over, Dana says he’ll most likely be giving the interim champ a shot at the real belt.

When asked what’s up with Conor’s next fight, and if it’ll even be in the UFC or in boxing or who-knows-what, here’s Dana’s answer:

“I expect Conor’s next fight to be in the UFC, in mixed martial arts and the winner of Khabib vs. Ferguson.”

But to be fair, Dana also says he really doesn’t know what’s going on, so take this prediction with a grain of salt. It’s hard to tell who is in charge these days, and for all we know, Conor could end up fighting a bear in Russia or as part of Joe Rogan’s hypothetical fight promotion.

What we do know is that Conor has been hanging out with his old boss, Lorenzo, and it makes you wonder what tricks they might have up their sleeve, since Conor has been vocal about not having contact with the new UFC owners.
