By now, most people are sick of the Conor vs Floyd feud because they really can’t see it materializing into a fight, but in a recent statement Conor said he would be happy to fight Mayweather, under boxing rules, for $100 million. It’s not that insane of a price when you consider what Floyd stands to make from the bout. Despite the sideshow freakshow aspect, this fight would still do numbers. It could be the biggest possible fight in the world of combat sports at the moment, what other match up would get more press and attention?
Floyd recently referred to McGregor as an Ant, saying Conor isn’t on the same level at all, even after UFC 205. Conor and Floyd have been going back and forth. but now Dana White is chiming in.
“Conor McGregor, if he touches you, you go to sleep. Floyd puts people to sleep too, with his fighting style, not with his hands. You know how Floyd knocks people out? When they’re not looking. Watch the Victor Ortiz fight. Floyd can say what he wants about Conor, but even other fighters have to respect him. He’s special. Floyd’s never even come close to doing to other fighters what Conor does.” – Dana White, to TMZ.
Floyd was one of the first people to give Dana a shot back in the day, when Dana was a young boxing promoter. Despite various dust-ups throughout their careers, the two have had positive things to say. Floyd has been very vocal against MMA in the past, however now he is warning up to the business potential. Maybe this is all coordinated to keep getting headlines?
