This cornerman was on point, and you’ve got to give him respect, especially when we see tragic deaths in the cage that happen when nobody is protecting the fighter. It’s good to see this cornerman was on point, and when the ref wasn’t going to stop the fight, the corner had to jump in and do it themselves. Sometimes, you’ve got to say screw it to the way things usually go, and just get in there and do what’s best for your fighter. In this case, she was out, she wasn’t trying to defend herself at all, and the ref wasn’t stopping the fight and protecting the fighter, so what choice did the cornerman have?
What do YOU think of this clip, did it seem like the ref had any intentions of stopping the fight any time soon?
Obviously you want to give your fighter every chance in the world to win, but safety is still more important than winning, especially when you’re in a choke where essential things like blood or air are being restricted, and every second counts.
