Conor McGregor Goes Off On Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar: “F*** Them Both!”

Articles

Conor had been relatively quiet leading up to his rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202. We’d see Nate making appearances on various talk shows, while Conor was keeping to himself, but during this last week until the fight, McGregor has been turning on the after burners and not only calling out the entire WWE, but also fellow UFC fighters too who aren’t anywhere near his own weightclass.

Conor definitely sounds a bit salty that he was removed from the main event of UFC 200 and two of the big fights that were meant to replace him involved guys who popped for banned substances.

When asked if Jones and Brock should be banned from the UFC, here’s what Conor McGregor had to say:

“I don’t give a shit. You know what? F*** them both, to be honest. I don’t know the stories, I don’t know the ins and outs, I’ve got my own shit to worry about. I was taken from [UFC] 200 for the co-main and the main and then both of them popped for some sh*t. Do what you want. I don’t give a f***.”

Do you think UFC 200 would have been better if they had kept Conor on the card, or are you fine with waiting until 202? It gives both camps some extra time to prepare, do you think that will make a difference, or is this one already set in stone?

Conor and Jones have seemed like pals in the past, so this probabally isn’t really anything personal from Conor against Jones, it’s just more of a blanket statement and a quick response when Conor was asked the question. He’s days out from a chance to avenge his biggest loss, and to get his hype train back on track. A second loss to Diaz wouldn’t end Conor, but it would definitely put a pause on the momentum, especially since t here’s nothing but tough fights waiting for him back in his home-weight of 145.

McGregor really needs to take the W here, and that’s his main focus, so he’s probabally tired of being asked questions about other fighters and what should happen to their careers – he just doesn’t care right now, nor should he. He’s got a very tough challenge coming up on August 20th and that should be his main focus.

Conor also recently described Nate’s fighting style as being similar to Homer Simpsons’s boxing career. Remember when Homer would let his opponent punch themselves out, until they were so exhausted that all it took was a little shove and they were done? That’s how Conor described his first fight against Diaz. This time around, Conor plans  to conserve his energy.
