Chuck Norris The Man and The Fighter

We all know Chuck Norris from his hit movies and famous Tv series “Walker Texas Ranger“.  Even though Chuck is short for Charles. Mr. Norris birth name was actually Carlos Ray Norris. It was when he joined the Air Force that he became know as ‘Chuck Norris”.  But what is most memorable and admired about Chuck is not his days in the Air Force. Its his martial arts style and in particular that famous power kick he often displays in many of his films and training sessions. Having a power kick is a true advantage over your opponent. If you can use it wisely and time your actions it can be truly effective. This was displayed when Tyron Woodley finished Carlos Condit with a leg kick. There was lots of power and strength in that kick.




Norris style is bit different but the power of the kick is just as effective.

Perfected His Kick Style (Roundnoose Kick)

Some people have called it  ‘a-roundabout kick’, some ’round noose kick’ and others ’round house kick’but regardless of the name you want to call it. As seen in the video clip if perfected it can pack the power of a nuclear bomb, (well not literally) but can put down your opponent and give you a considerable advantage.

Chuck is one of the few actors who have refused stunts doubles and chose to do his own stunts. After leaving the Air Force Norris started his own karate schools centered around his unique fighting style. Almost creating his own style of martial arts. We know the art has been around long before Chuck Norris however he has made a good contribution towards it advancement. Norris’ Martial Arts schools had celebrity clientele such as Steve McQueen, Bob Barker, Priscilla Presley, and Donny & Marie Osmond. Understanding How To Do A Flying Round House Kick

    1. View these images to understand the sequence of the flying round house kick.

      2. Be ready for action (Chong-bi).

      3. Adopt the fighting stance (Kherugi Seogi). Run forward approximately three to four steps as fast as possible.

      4. Jump from your right leg and lift your left knee as high as possible. In the air, turn your body 360 degrees and look to the front direction while turning.

      5. Make sure both feet remain level to the hip. Your arms should be near your body.

      6. Draw a circle with your body. Execute the instep foot strike (flying round house kick) with your right hand straight. Kick with the lifting foot while turning

      Land in a forward stance (Kherugi Seogi).
