Brock Lesnar Says He’ll Break WWE Contract And Fight In UFC Again If He Wants To

MMA

On Thursday, it was announced that Lesnar would face Randy Orton in one of the marquee matches of SummerSlam, one of the WWE’s biggest annual events. Lesnar left no doubt that he intends to follow through on that, but kept the door open for a return.

But is it possible? And what could come from a UFC run?

The kneejerk reaction to this would be “no.” Part of the reason Lesnar appeared at UFC 200 was because of his WWE schedule this year, which requires a specific number of appearances. The WWE burned through almost all of them by April by making him a major part of the build towards the Royal Rumble, Fastlane and WrestleMania, and that freed up his schedule for this fight. That appearance count, however, resets come 2017.

Still, there is hope. The WWE and UFC are clearly becoming business partners these days with Dana talking up negotiations with Vince and both parties buying ad slots on the others’ programming. And if the return on investment is there for the WWE, there’s no reason for Brock not to come back.
